Brief Profile
Vivekananda Institute of technology pioneers the Department of Information Science and Engineering in the year 1998 with the sanctioned intake of 60 students. Now the intake has been increased to 120 from the academic year 2024-25. The department has well equipped highly qualified dynamic faculty members. The department aims to achieve quality in education and excellence in knowledge management through innovations, problem solving, inter disciplinary collaborations and continuous improvement to meet the changing needs of society.

Program Outcome(POS)
- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Vanajakshi has completed her Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Mysore University and Master of Technology and Ph.D in Computer Science & Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in India. She is having total experiences of 22 + years. She has conducted various Training Programmes, Seminars and Workshops. She has published technical papers in various International conferences, Refereed Journals, Peer Reviewed Journals. She has also received best presentation and best paper award for her research work. She is the Life Member for ISTE, IAENG, and IE. Her area of research interests are Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Image Processing, Data Mining.
