- The main function of Career Counseling and Placement Cell (CCPT) is to mould the students to make them industry ready by imparting essential skills and training.
- The Career Counseling and Placement Cell is well equipped with state of art infrastructure for the placement process like seminar hall, group discussion room and interview rooms in the first floor of the Administrative Block.
- The CCPT provides a 60-hour exclusive training that covers English Language, to improve communication skill, Verbal Aptitude, Numerical & Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, Personality Development and CV Writing to all pre-final year students through its training partners.
- The Domain specific placement training to its students is arranged by the respective departments regularly.
- At the beginning of the recruitment process companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks or presentation about the organisation.
- The students are allowed to attend all the job opportunities and there is no restriction on the number of offer letters a student receives.
- Guest Lectures and webinars are organized for the branch students for placement and guidance to higher studies at abroad.

About Career Counseling and Placement Cell
Career counselling and Placement cell provide a bridge between students and corporate. Our students have been recruited by reputed companies. The Placement Cell enhances the employability of students by conducting pre-placement training programme for the students from 3rd to 7th sem which gives an insight of the corporate culture. The training syllabus includes mathematical skills, analytical skills, aptitude skills, language skills, technical skills. The career counselling and Placement Cell is equipped with seminar hall, group discussion room and interview rooms in the first floor of Administrative Block. Placement Officer
Dr. Shaila K, is presently the Placement Officer and Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication at Vivekananda Institute of Technology. She has over 26 years of teaching experience and 15 years of research experience. She was Professor and Head of the Department, Vivekananda Institute of Technology from May 2012 till June 2019. She has obtained a multidisciplinary degree with Ph. D in Computer Science and Engineering, University Visvesvaraiah College of Engineering from Bangalore University, M.E in Electronics and Communication from University Visvesvaraiah College of Engineering, Bangalore University and B.E from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore University, Bangalore. She has authored the book titled Digital Circuits and Systems published by Tata McGraw Hill, New Delhi and Secure Data Communication Techniques by LAP LAMBERT publishers, Germany. She has guided five Ph.D scholars and one scholar is pursuing Ph.D in VTU. She has 67 papers in refereed International Journals and 65 papers in International Conferences to her credit. She has received Best Teacher and Best Researcher Award. She has received for Best Project and travel grants from AICTE for her research work. She has been invited from colleges to deliver the talk. Her name appears in Marquis Who’s Who in the World Science and Engineering. She has been the reviewer and chaired Technical sessions in various International conferences. She has organized conferences and various events. She is the Life member of ISTE, iMAPs, Member of ACM, IEANG and reviewer for conference and journals. Her research interest includes Wireless Sensor Networks, Adhoc Networks, Internet of Things, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing.

- 140 hour certification-linked free Pre-Placement Training and Placements was conducted by Edunet Foundation in collaboration with EY- GDS on Next Gen Employability Program on Data Analytics and Full Stack Development from 15th October 2023 – 20th October 2023, 4th December to 15th December 2023, Volunteer Engagement Session on 14th and 15th December 2023 and from 28th December 2023 online session was conducted.
- A Live AMA Session on K-VLSI Design Skill Program was organised by KDEM on 27th September 2023.
- Free online training program on “Fundamentals of Full Stack Development” for 30 hours was conducted from 20th September 2023 by ExcelR Edtech Pvt/ Ltd.and as per the MoU.
- The inaugural function of registration of students in Karnataka Skill Development – Kaushalkar – Portal, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, Startup Karnataka, K-tech and Startup Karnataka was organised on 08.2023 and all the students were made to register in the KSDC portal for internship and placement.

Placement Process
- Placement & Training Centre provides window of opportunities to the Students over a wide variety of career’s in a broad spectrum of Industries/Organizations in India. It serves as a Single point of Contact for the Organizations on various Industry-Institute Initiatives including signing MOUs. Faculty Development Programmes are also organized in collaboration with industry experts. Most of the IT Companies visit the college during seventh semester while core companies visit the college throughout the final year of students’ graduation.
- The Institute’s Professorle is being sent to the prospective companies/organizations with all relevant information to participate in the campus placements. Regular personal visits are being made by the Training and Placement Officer to the companies to establish healthy relationships.
