A Four Day Workshop on “Computer Communication Networks” 02nd -5th May 2018, Organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering In Association with JETKING, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru

Day 1(02-05-2018)

Session 1: 9.00 – 12.50

Welcome Speech by Mrs. Pavithra H C, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE, VKIT, Bengaluru with the presence of Mr. Vijaymahantesh B Unki, Senior Business Development Manager, JetKing, Mrs. Sunitha Amingad, Technical Manager, JetKing JetKing, Mrs. Chandramma R, HOD, Dept. of CSE, Dr.Shyla K, HOD, Dept. of ECE, Dr. Vidya A, HOD, Dept. of ISE, Mrs. Vanajakshi P, Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE.

Total number of Students Present: 78

Topics Done: Networking Concepts, Networking Cables, Addressing in Networks, Intermediary Devices and Protocols.

Session 2: 1.30 – 3.50

Topics Done: HTTP, OSI Model.

Day 2(03-05-2018)

Session 1: 9.00 – 12.50

Topics Done: File Transfer Protocol, Routing, Types of Routing, Static Routing.

Session 2: 1.30 – 3.50

Topics Done: Dynamic Routing, Distance Vector Protocol, Link State Protocol, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First)

Day 3 (04-05-2018)

Session 1: 9.00 – 12.50

Topics Done: Wireless Modes of connection, IEEE 802.11, Wireless Access Points, Adhoc Networks, Smartphones, Tablets.

Session 2: 1.30 – 3.50

Topics Done: IPV6, Internet Engineering Task Force, IPV6 Addressing, Telnet

Day 4(05-05-2018)

Industrial Visit to JETKING, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru,

Students of CSE, ECE, ISE, and Staffs of Dept. of CSE left the college around 9.15 AM with VKIT College bus route no 1 and 6 and reached the JETKING around 10.45 AM.

Topics Done: Router Connectivity, Data Centre, Virtual LAN, Personality Development.

Finally concluded with the placement opportunity about JetKing and thanked everyone for providing the opportunity to visit the industrial visit and ended at 3:00pm.

Students expressed their valuable feedback by thanking the Principal, HOD and staff  members of Dept. of CSE for organizing this workshop. Students who were finding coding was tough but attending this workshop they gained knowledge about network field and they happily expressed they can enter in to an IT sector through this field. Workshop was more informative. Students has requested to conduct more and more these type of workshops every semester.
